What started out as a Kimchi jar, sharpies, and a few rolls of crepe paper, with your help, became a beautiful expression of collective creative energy. Over 100 poetry collaborators participated in our Kimchi Poetry Project at Zine Fest SF. We thank you for creating these collaborative poems together. Poet Keely Hysop and I collaged the contributed lines. We created two poems from Zinefest SF Saturday and Sunday. We hope you enjoy the poems!
Collaged by: Keely Hysop and Margaret Rhee
an excerpt:
“I saw the best minds of my generation buy a lot of coffee
I’m so tired of not being special that I’m too tired to be special
There were coffee stains on her poodle skirt
Sweet honeysuckle sunlight
And the night was dark
My mom grew up in Garden Grove
Kites across bright skies
Are there such things as broccoli trees?
I can pinch my pinky toe in my little fist.
I will live, I survived”
